Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Assistant Production Manager. This role is pivotal in supporting the Production Manager in coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day operations of our theatre's production department, with specific responsibilities in managing venue rentals and maintaining excellent relationships with clients.
Responsibilities
Production Support:
Assist the Production Manager in planning and executing all theatre productions.
Help coordinate technical rehearsals, load-ins, and load-outs.
Maintain production schedules, ensuring all deadlines are met.
Assist with budget management and resource allocation for productions.
Rental Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for all rental inquiries.
Coordinate and manage the scheduling, logistics, and contracts for venue rentals.
Ensure that all rental clients receive outstanding customer service and that their needs are met efficiently and professionally.
Oversee the setup, execution, and breakdown of rental events, ensuring all technical and production requirements are fulfilled.
Administrative Duties:
Prepare and maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to production and rentals.
Facilitate communication between production staff, creative teams, and other departments.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all productions and events.
Job Requirements:
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Production, Arts Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in production management, preferably in a professional theatre setting.
Proven experience in managing venue rentals and client relations.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with an eye for detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in production management software and tools.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
